Finally! The MP3s, QuickTime movies, Real G2s, and WAVs are up on the Music pages! Rather than using the A & B sections from before, all the music loops twice. So, the files are bigger than before, but hey, they're better.

March 25, 2000
I've made up How To sections for the Doc Robot stages and for Dr. Wily’s castle.

March 17, 2000
Joey Kincer and I have struck a deal so I can host his great Mega Man MIDIs as MP3s on the music pages! In return I host some other MP3s of his music for his site... if you ask me, I'm getting the better end of the deal, but you know... Check out Joey’s site here, and listen to his great Mega Man MIDIs.

March 12, 2000
I managed to score a copy of the “Rockman 2: The Power Fighters” CD. It’s music from the Japanese arcade game of the same name (Rockman being Mega Man’s name in Japan). Anyway, rather than making completely new music for this 1996 game, they instead decided to remix classic Mega Man music... and it’s AMAZING. Check out the Music pages and listen to some of the tracks (listed under the MP3 headings).

February 26, 2000
The “new and improved” Mega Man Text feature has been finished.

February 25, 2000
Well, it took a little longer than I thought it would, but the site has been reorganized. You’ll notice that all the pages are in their own folders and that other little things have changed (like the font, table sizes, etc.) The game music is back offline, but you can still get the MIDIs and MODs. Expect to find some broken links and broken graphics, but problems like that should be fixed soon. Oh, and before I go, I’ve started looking for information on the other NES Mega Man games, so I should have something for MM1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 up soon.

January 31, 2000
THE SITE HAS MOVED TO A NEW HOME! So, the deal I was talking about before worked out- I was worried for a little while there that it wasn’t going to work out the way I wanted it to, but thanks to a new friend at MacNN everything has worked out 100%. This should be this site’s home for a long time to come.
Anyway, for the time being, some stuff will be broken. CGIs won’t work until I update them, and the music from the game won’t be available until I upload them... I should have everything back to normal in about 2 weeks. Until then, email me at davidb@macnn.com.

December 7, 1999
So, the site is back... kinda. I’m still in the process of moving everything from FortuneCity to Geocities. Accounts at GC are 15MB, that’s 5MB less than FC, but I’m sure I’ll manage. The one good thing about this is that I knew it was going to happen eventually and I prepared for it! All of the HTML pages use Server Side Includes for the linked files, so all I had to do to change everything over was to update the contents of *one* included file... and that took all of 2 1/2 seconds. So, I know what you’re saying: “Dave, you’re my hero... and fuck those damn bastards at FortuneCity!” Well, yeah, I feel the same way. :) Anyway, if you notice broken images or links, please tell me, I want to get the site back to normal ASAP.

November 20, 1999
How To sections for all the main Robot Masters have been completed. How To sections for Doc Robot stages and Dr. Wily’s Castle should be available soon.

November 16, 1999
I’ve finally gotten around to making a How To section for a robot master. Check out Magnet Man.

October 31, 1999
BOO! Happy Halloween! Well, I hope I didn’t scare you too much... Anyway, I’ve uploaded the scans of the manual, they’re over on the artwork page.

October 19, 1999
The scans of the box have been uploaded and are part of the Artwork page. They are larger than any of the other pictures on the site (360 pixels wide rather than 240 pixels), this is basically so you can read the text on the box.

September 30, 1999
Good news! I was in an auction on eBay for a Mega Man 3 cart/manual/box, and I won! The goods arrived today in great condition! This was my first eBay purchase, so I’m glad everything worked out so easily. Thanks to sanquinn for making everything so painless. :) I’m going to scan everything and put it up somewhere... should be soon. In other news, I’ve added a MOD to the Top Man page. Thanks to Plant Servo for the heads up.

September 17, 1999
Several people have complained that the “Play” button in the Music section doesn’t work for them, so I have added a “Link” button. The Link button will load up a new page with a link to the file to be downloaded (so it can be shift-clicked). And, as always, contact me if you want something done now.

July 28, 1999
Nintendo Power Volume 24 is on-line now.

July 1, 1999
I bet you didn’t think I was going to get another update in June, did you? Yeah, well... Oh, wait. DAMMIT! (heh - I’m so funny)... Any how, Happy Canada Day, what is this now... 132 years old, and it doesn’t look a bit over 120 (and hardly any wrinkles!). I finally got around to listening to those MIDIs and MODs that I got recently, none of them were “super-great”, but they’re up, check them out of the Music page. One of the new music files is an MP3 remix of Shadow Man by a band called “Hence The Name.” The first remix by an actual band. And, I’ve updated the Nintendo Power Top 20 listings, Peter Newman and Torley Wong sent in some info that completes my listings, THANK YOU!! Expect Nintendo Power volume 24 to be on-line soon.

June 23, 1999
Um... hi? Oh, I’m on? Okay. (heh) Well, it’s been a while... but I’ve got some good news, I scanned Nintendo Power Volume 22, and it’s on-line. I have some new MIDIs and MODs that I haven’t rated yet, so they’re not up, but expect them soon. Oh, and remember a few updates ago (May 19, 1999) when I was talking about Star Wars? Yeah, well I did go see it, and it was bad. Okay, the effects and fight scenes get a 5 (out of 5) but the story gets a 1.5 or maybe a 2, overall it’s a 3. Now everyone sing with me “Jar Jar Binks must die!” About some of the effects: I was so upset with CG in Star Wars, yes it looked good, but it didn’t look real. With the amount of time and money they spent on that movie the CG should have looked totally real. While I’m on this movie topic, The Matrix kicked ass, and Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me was great.

June 1, 1999
Added some sprites to the Sprites page.

May 22, 1999
I got an email with an attachment the other day. The attachment was a JPEG picture of the Rock Man 3 cart (from Japan). It can be found on the Artwork page.

May 19, 1999
Okay, all of you people who went and saw Star Wars today, get over it. I hope you enjoyed wasting your day. You do know that it’s going to be playing for months, right? I’m not saying that it’s a bad movie (I haven’t seen it), but c’mon, get over it already. I’ll go see it in a couple weeks (when the place will be empty). Anyway, Nintendo Power Volume 97 online now. I’ll do some more scanning sometime soon, next up Volumes 22 and 24.

May 18, 1999
Nintendo Power Volume 18 is online now. It includes a really big poster (the feature poster). COOL! I’ll have another volume up tomorrow or the next day.

May 17, 1999
Volume 14 is online now. I’ll have a few more issues up within the next couple days.

May 8, 1999
I did some scanning of some Nintendo Power issues. I still have to touch them up a little, and connect pages, etc., but when they’re done, I’ll be sure to upload them. Expect them in about two weeks. *Did he just say two weeks? Damn that guy is slow* :)

April 29, 1999
I bet you didn’t think I was going to get another update in April, did you? Yeah, well... blah, blah, blah... HA! I have finally completed the level pages! The Break Man (aka Proto Man) and Dr. Wily Stages are available! Oh, and Nelson-like “ha ha” to all you Windows users who got that Chernobyl virus. Get a Mac already! Oh, and going along with Apple, QuickTime 4 is out. Well, only as a preview (that’s beta in AAPL-speak :), I wouldn’t suggest you download and install it just yet (I never recommend beta software), but when the final is out, I will endorse it fully and re-encode some of the sounds into QT4 format (and I’ll change that super-nifty qt-banner at the side!) Until then, feel free to download the sounds in QuickTime 3 format.

April 11, 1999
The new music pages are ready. You can also see them on the level pages. The new pages use select boxes (if you don’t know what a select box is, just go to the new page and look), anyway, I think they make the pages look cleaner and less confusing. Technically, by selecting a version of the music you want, you can click on the Play button, this launches a Perl CGI script that I wrote (I’m beginning to really like Perl, if you couldn’t tell!), that redirects the browser to the music file, then the browser can determine what’s next. It can either launch a player for the music, or ask you if you want to save. Cool! Anyway, contact me (please, please, please, pleeeeeeze contact me!), and tell me what you want done next (other than the ’complete’ versions of the music).

April 9, 1999
Okay, I finished the new version the Mega Man Text page. It works amazingly. I would have had it done sooner, but I had to wait for my ISP to confirm that there is a way to have CGI output parsed for SSI. Anyway, try it out. I have made the RealAudio and QuickTime versions of the game music. I have uploaded them, and I will add the links in very soon. Also, I am planning to update the music pages with select boxes, they make the page look cleaner.

April 2, 1999
If you visit this site often (let’s say more than once in a few weeks time) can you please contact me and tell me that you do? I’d love to hear from you. Also, please tell me what you want to see updated/finished the most, then I’ll know where to start first to make all of you happy.

March 31, 1999
Well, I can’t tell you that I’ve been doing anything with the site during my extended break, because I haven’t, so there! I have changed the Mega Man title, it’s got a cool 3-D-like faded highlight, ah, the wonders of Photoshop. Also, in the last few days I’ve started learning Perl (you know, the CGI programming language...) So, I am updating the Mega Man Text page to use CGI perl rather than JavaScript, as this will take control away from the browser, and give it to the server. This is a very good thing, as some browsers, like Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, do not handle JavaScript correctly.

February 27, 1999
Updated my About page with some more quotes, and music. I am working on some sprites (and planning to re-do the ones I’ve already done). No one has emailed me about the new logos, but I guess I shouldn’t be suprised, no one visits this site anyway... *waaaa* :)

February 14, 1999
Everything is back to normal now. I have tripple checked every inter-site link to make sure they work, and they all do. *Whew* I have made up a couple of new logos for the site, one with a faded white border, the other with a pixelized/mosaic border. Contact me and tell me what you think.

February 12, 1999
Okay, problems are over... If you haven’t been paying attention, my ISP f’d up my site when they upgraded their servers. They also changed several server configuration options, like Server Side Includes, and .htaccess. For a file to be parsed by the server to include SSI, the filename must be .html, which is teadious at best. The other change with .htaccess won’t cause that much damage, it simply told the server to re-direct to a different error page when a file wasn’t found. This will mean nothing to all of you out there, but for me, it will mean some time changing every html file on the site to recognise the .html file extention, and remembering to change the file types when I upload. Now, on a totally different topic, I bought a CD a couple of days ago. Men Without Hats’ 1987 release, Pop Goes The World. This is a great album, every track is amazing. Go get it yourself, and take a listen.

February 9, 1999
For some reason, my ISP messed up my site, and all viewers get when they visit it is an Internal Server Error (500). I have spoken to my ISP, and they blame the problem on a recent server upgrade to Apache 1.3.4. They tell me that the problem will be fixed soon. On a lighter note, I am planning (in the semi-far future) to make ULTIMATE sites for other Mega Man games, from Mega Man I to Mega Man VI. I have started to collect MIDIs and MODs from those games, but full out graphics grabbing, sound recording, etc. are a long way off. As you can see at the side there, there are link images to those sites, with the current site highlighted. Of course, these links don’t work yet.

January 28, 1999
Nothing special happening right now... Just thought I’d say hi... ’Hi!’ (heh)... Oh, yeah, I re-encoded the MP3s with the L3Enc encoder (Fraunhofer-IIS’s encoder, the best quality encoder), in high quality mode. Yes the encoding took forever (20 hours on my 486-33), but they sound noticibly better than with the Mpeckers encoder. That’s all.

January 24, 1999
Minor update today, Mega Mandi’s Mega Man Home Page moved, so, I’ve updated all the pages with her new URL.

January 22, 1999
THE MP3s ARE UP! WOOHOO! Go check them out! I updated my photos page, the sightings photos page, the FAQ, and the level pages. Also, you’ll notice that some of the MIDI/MOD listings are red. I have done this to indicate that I think that they are so far superior to the original that they deserve special recognition (now you know). I’m going to start that Technical Information page soon, along with the all new Download page, a place where you can download everything from this site. Oh, and I’m getting a new Power Macintosh G3 (blue and white) soon, until then, you can check out Apple’s web site for pictures (heh).

January 19, 1999
So, I’m a little late in celebrating the new year... But hey, what can you do? HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Is that better? Huh? Is it? Is it? Okay, well, forget that. So, I finished the MP3s and uploaded them, and they were woking, but for some reason FortuneCity DELETED MY MP3 SITE! Arrgh! Goodbye hours of uploading... So, FC and I are trying to work out what happened, maybe something good will come of it. I originally thought that the MP3s were going to be around 15Mb, but I realised that these are mono sounds, and only need to be compressd at 64 kBit/s, not 128 kBit/s like stereo music needs to be, so I save around 7.5Mb!. Aaaannnndddd... I’ve moved! I used to be located at a friend’s site, but I’ve got my own site on the same server, check out the URL, it’s different. Thank you to Peter Lougheed and Magenta for the web space. Oh, and because I’ve moved, the counter has reset, I guess nothing works perfectly. And you may have noticed that the Banner Ads are gone. I think they took too long to load and made the page look bad, so I’ve moved them into the Link To This Site page, the page also includes information on how to embed the graphics in your web site. I have also added some more pictures and sounds of myself, I do this basically because Synthpop Blake did it on his site, and I thought it was a cool idea, letting viewers know who created the site. And speaking of Synthpop Blake, this is THE synthpop site. If you are even remotely interested in synthpop music, GO THERE! There are some new letters in the Letters section, I added a question to the FAQ, um, I did a bunch more stuff that I can’t remember right now... Anyway, have fun.

November 16, 1998
I’ve been working my butt off to get this next update ready. I have finished the Music pages, but as of yet, I have no music to put on them (I just can’t seem to get any extra time on my work Macintosh to compress these sounds). I added a Contact page, so if you want to email me, you can, right from the web site (no need to load Eudora), gotta love the formmail.cgi, right? I also tossed the Enemies and non-existant Friends pages in exchange for the Sprites page, whoopeee! Plus, I added the FAQ (frequently asked questions) page, so if I haven’t answered your question, email me. I updated the About David Bradbury (that’s me) page, so there’s lots of info on me, and maybe some I shouldn’t have uploaded! The Letters page now includes email messages that I have sent/received in addition to snail mail letters (so you can read the steamy correspondance between Mega Mandi and I, just kidding, Pixelboy and I, woah! What am I writing? Dave, stop!) Oh, and did you notice the cool banner ads? No, I didn’t fall prey to corperate america, I made these ads myself, they advertise this site. I know what you’re saying, “Why the hell would you advertise for your site, on your site?” Well, I already had the banner ads made, so I just put them up with an image-randomiser cgi script, so all of them would be displayed. And I think they’re good, some of them are funny, well, a very dry funny. And... just for a side note, check out the Get Real button ad at the side there... I made it from scratch, cool eh? I also added some information about Top Spin to the Weapons page. Oh and I updated all the Level pages to have the new Music archive listings (through SSI)... Doesn’t SSI rock? And last but not least I updated this News page to include links to pages that are mensioned, neat!

October 25, 1998
LOTS of under the hood updates (that will be uploaded soon). And... very close to uploading the MP3s, QT3s, and RAs, oh and yeah- when I move to SimpleNet I’ll upload the raw CD quality sound files (read: 10 seconds = 1Mb).

October 9, 1998
I finished all the new sounds, and will upload them very soon. They sound great. The sounds, even MP3’d, are around 15Mb- so I’m going to get another FortuneCity site. FortuneCity places big restricions on second sites, so I’ll have to be careful. I am going to change the Media Archive to Music page. Also, just to let you know, the raw data files for this site (uncompressed high-resolution bitmaps, CD quality sound samples, etc.), now comprise almost 300 megabytes (3 zip disks).

September 7, 1998
Don’t expect those MP3s anytime soon, okay? I haven’t had a chance to work on them in a while, and they freak me out a little. In a semi-sad note, I removed the NES ROM page which had the Mega Man 3 ROM. I had hoped that I would be able to keep this ROM up, so people who had never played the game before could. But my better judgement has taken over. The risk of legal action for having the ROM would be too much for me if it happened, and I want to been in Capcom’s good books if I ever ask for official permission for the site. Along with that, I sent a message to Mega Mandi to ask how she got official permission from Capcom, maybe she’ll help me.

September 3, 1998
Made a major under-the-hood update today. The links to FortuneCity are done through Server Side Includes (SSI), so if FortuneCity does catch on... or I switch servers... or I switch FortuneCity locations, all I have to do is update one text file, and the links will still work! I know what you’re saying now: “Wow! This Dave guy is really cool. I wish I was him.” Right? Yeah, I knew it. If you were wondering, no I haven’t finished those MP3s yet. They are incredably hard to edit (I wish I had realised that when I started). I need to spend like 3-5 hours to get just a 30 second loop working. I have also discovered that a few of the MP3s I’m going to make are larger than the 1Mb limit that FortuneCity forces on everyone. I may need to take the quality down quite a bit (read: 32k), or not include an MP3 version. The last five news reports will be included on the main (index) page.

August 30, 1998
While I have recorded all the sounds from the game in CD-Quality, I’m having a really hard time making sure the sounds will loop when played. It’s easy to do that when you record at 8-Bit 8000 Hz, but at 16-Bit 44100 Hz its a little more difficult. There are so many more samples to deal with, and making sure that the right samples are included, and keeping the correct timing is pretty hard. In other news, I found some more music MODs, yes they are from Mega Man 3, but personally I think they suck. I’ll put them on the site anyway. And I still have this “get a SimpleNet site, and move everything there!” bug in the back of my mind. Oh, would I love that! I just have to work out the financial situation first. And I think I’d like to get official permission from Capcom, but what if they say no? Maybe I’ll send a message to Mega Mandi, she’s got official permission.

August 20, 1998
Well, it’s been a long time since the last update, but I haven’t been slacking off. I have re-recorded all the sounds from the game, and I will MP3 and upload them as soon as possible. I am also planning to add a QuickTime 3.0 QDesign Music version of each too (and if that isn’t enough, maybe a RealMedia version). I want everyone to know that I have been using Adobe Premiere 5.0 and Macromedia Sound Edit 16 Pro 2 to do my audio and video editing, and they are AMAZING programs. I might (read: probably not, but sounds cool) record a QuickTime video of me playing the game, then upload it in a format that people can download fairly quickly (Sorenson Compressor). And if I haven’t wowed you enough with my technical knowledge already, I’m going to make a Technical Information page on Mega Man 3. The page will include things like cart info, system colors, programming information, and anything else I can think of.

July 29, 1998
Doesn’t FortuneCity rock? I just found out yesterday that FortuneCity has increased it’s site size to 20Mb from 10Mb! So, that means that I have an extra 10Mb to play with! So, I’m going to re-record the sounds and music at CD quality, and then MP3 them. I might upload other things that I hadn’t planned on before. I LOVE FORTUNECITY. IF YOU DON’T ALREADY HAVE AN FORTUNECITY ACCOUNT, GO GET ONE!

July 22, 1998
Today I added the most amazing reference for Nintendo Power volume 20. The entire feature article along with some other graphics were scanned and uploaded. You can gain access to them through the Sightings page, and I’ll add more volumes later.

July 12, 1998
I told you I’d do it, and I have... I’ve updated a lot of the pages, and uploaded all the main Robot Master and Doc Robot stage pages. I also had to update the ’choose level’ pages due to inconsistantcies. Remeber about a month ago when I wanted to put JavaScript on all the pages to detect if large or small versions of icons should be displayed? Well guess what- the ’screen’ JavaScript tag is only useable in Netscape Navigator 4.0! So, only a small percentage of people would reap the benifits- and thus, would not be worth my time. So I’m skipping it. I have updated the site to let the tables fill the whole screen rather than just the first 600 pixels. Oh well...

July 11, 1998
Well, it’s been a while, but I’ve got some great news... I’ve finished the Robot Master pages for the main Robot Masters and the Doc Robot stages. I’ll check them over tonight to make sure they’re done, and hopefully upload them tomorrow. Also, I’ve had some thoughts about scanning some photos of me when I got Mega Man 3, and of me playing the game (of course that would have been in late 1990- early 1991 when I was 11-12 years old), but I can’t do it until I get access to a scanner...

July 1, 1998
HAPPY CANADA DAY! HAPPY 131st CANADA! Well, with that out of the way, I can tell you that I’ve had some troubling times recently. Here’s the story: I got an upgrade for my computer, and being a person who knows a lot about their computer, I decided to install the upgrade myself. Well- it didn’t go so well. The whole system crashed, battery backed data was deleted, and my system wouldn’t run. So, I had to take it into a repair shop. Three days and and almost $300 later, I got it back in complete working order with the upgrade installed. For a while there, I thought I was going to lose the contents of my hard drive (where all of the source for this site is kept), but fortunately my hard drive was spared from the destruction. Whew... So, now I can get back to working on this site. I might have something to upload tonight or tomorrow morning.

June 24, 1998
I made a major update to the entire site today. I went through every page and updated some vital information, including font sizes, and also made sure that every link works. I’m planning to spell check everything soon.

June 22, 1998
I’ve added the Links page, with links to just a few sites for now, most notably Mega Mandi’s Mega Man Home Page, and Pixelboy’s Mega Man Mainframe (you guys rock). I’ll add an info page on myself tomorrow.

June 15, 1998
So, I checked my email this morning and I got a message back from Pixelboy- And he said YES! So, I’ll be putting the Password Generator up right now... Look there it is... over at the side there!

June 14, 1998
Well, I got a message back from Mandi Paugh (Password Generator) and she sent me the JavaScript code and graphic resources for it, but couldn’t give me permission to use on the web. So I have emailed Pixelboy to ask his permission, and as I have said before, “I hope the answer is yes!” The second I get a positive responce, it’ll be up.

June 13, 1998
Updated the Media Archive with the new MODs and their file sizes. Added Levels (including Dr. Wily). Updated many of the Boss pages, but haven’t uploaded them yet. Added some new entires to the Sightings, mostly issues 14, 18, 22, and 97. Created Weapon Effectiveness page, with information from Nintendo Power volume 22 Classified Information.

June 11, 1998
Fine tuned the new style of the site, re-arranging the controls at the left. I’m actually thinking about tossing some JavaScript into the SSI added files to re-adjust the screen and controls depending on how big the viewer’s screen is, so if it’s 640x480 you’ll get the small version of everything, or if the screen is 800x600+ the large version will display (and if the browser doesn’t support JavaScript? Default to the small version). This re-adjustment is at least a week or two off, but it’s something that I feel just needs to be done.

June 10, 1998
THE NEW VERSION OF THE SITE IS UP!! Looks amazing! I want to thank the owner of the site I’m being hosted at, so thanks! Hopefully he’ll let me keep them here for a while, at least until I give something like SimpleNet a try. Also, I hope FortuneCity doesn’t catch on that I’m simply hosting my files there- if they do, they’ll toast me! Let it be known- I do like FortuneCity, they were and are still great to me, it’s just the SSI extension, and the fact they won’t use it!

June 9, 1998
So, I got a message back from FortuneCity and they say that they don’t support Server Side Includes (SSI), and that they never will, because they WON’T TURN ON THE EXTENTION!! Well, that pisses me off to no end- but what can I do? Nothing I guess- except move my site somewhere else... I’m going to move all the HTML files to a friend’s site and keep the resources at FortuneCity (my friend only has a couple hundred K he can spare...). This will be okay, but, I’ll have to link to all of the files at FortuneCity using the whole URL rather than just the file name. I guess eventually I’ll move the site to SimpleNet or some place like that which will give me unlimited space at $10 per month.

June 8, 1998
I’ve finished the layout for the new version of this site- and believe me, it looks AMAZING! Only thing is, FortuneCity doesn’t seem to support SSI (Server Side Includes), which I want to use to make this site easy to maintain (sure I don’t need to use SSI, but I want to). I have emailed FortuneCity and hopefully they will turn the SSI extension on for their servers.

June 7, 1998
So, what do you know? Mandi Paugh, the creator of the famed Mega Man site (the person I talked about in the June 1 update) is going to let me use her Password Generator!! AWESOME! She still has to email me all the files for it. Apparently it was written by some guy named Pixelboy. I don’t know if I should know who all of these people are- but anyway I will be providing links to both of their sites. Also, today I got rid of that Moduled Text JavaScript- sure it looks nice (interesting), but god damn it’s slow! (and a little buggy). You can still see the Mega Man Text at the Mega Man Text page, so it’s not a total loss. And I’ve started work on the redesigned version of this site (you can see the graphic of it on the main page, and I’ll be using SSI (Server Side Includes)! I don’t know why more people don’t use SSI- it’s makes updating tabled sites so easy! I rated the new MODs this morning- the only really good one was the Snake Man stage- I could listen to that one for hours (read: minutes). NEWS FLASH!!! The Nintendo Power back issues I ordered finally arrived! Volumes 14, 18, 20, 22, 24, 97 and the NES Game Atlas. Sure they cost $7 bucks a pop ($25.50 for the Game Atlas), but who cares?

June 2, 1998 I have created an Enemies page with a listing of all the enemies from the game. Now, be warned- the names of the enemies were made up by me, because to my knowledge, the enemies WERE NEVER NAMED! So, you’ll have to put up with names like ’Red Bouncy Guy’. I’m also planning to make a Friends page- but that’ll be a few days (read: weeks).

Well, well, well. Yes, I know today was my due date, and I’m not done- but as the main page said, it will be done this month! Anyway, I’ve done so much work in the past couple days- adding the Letters section, Top 20 section, Art section, finished the Sightings, and I’ve added some MODs to the MIDI section! I’ve been to several Mega Man sites recently, and one of them had a Mega Man 3 Password Generator! I WANT IT!! So, I’ve emailed the site’s owner to ask if I can use it on this site... I hope the answer is yes!

Well, if you thought I was a slouch before-- Woah! I haven’t worked on this in 3 weeks! And what have I been doing? Mostly Macintosh advocacy (oh, didn’t I tell you- I’m a Mac user?). Well, I’m back, and I’ve got some cool new information, mainly the Mega Man 3 ’Sightings’ page. Right now, I’ve got most of the Nintendo Power magazine sightings from issues 20 through 53, but I am missing some sightings from pre-20. So, go check it out!

Wow, I sure am a slouch! I haven’t done anything since my last update! I don’t know what’s wrong with me, some days I’m really into making this site, and others I just totally forget about it... But there has been some progress today. I added the NESticle (NES Emulator) ROM patch file to the Game Genie page, that way you can just download the file and automatically have Game Genie codes! Also today I’ve updated all the pages so they’ll have this cool blue background (and by the way, this is the exact Mega Man 3 blue!). I’m also going to work on making moduled JavaScript, meaning that I’m going to strip the code from the text page and allow the rest of my pages to use it! (for titles and such) -very cool.

Created a Game Genie Codes page with all of the Game Genie codes for the game on it. I’m sure everyone will thank me for this... I deleted the ’sound’ site from Geocities, and re-directed my Bigfoot permanent URL to the FortuneCity site. I will remove all the files from the Geocities site and make it something else- not to do with Mega Man 3- probably something to do with me or my programs.

Wow, things sure are moving! I uploaded those semi-finished level files from yesterday, and linked them with the ’choose level’ page. I captured a few more sprites of some enemies, but I still haven’t done major work on the Mega Man or Proto Man sprites.

April 30, 1998
I also rated all of the MIDI files that I have found. Some were very bad, but most are good, and at least one got a score of 10/10! I have semi-finished the main boss level files, ie: they’re completed except for the new sub sections, I’ll finish them later.

April 29, 1998
Moved the MSADPCM compressed WAVs to the FortuneCity site.

April 28, 1998
I’ve finally gotten time to work on some of the level files. I’m adding new sections to the level files, for example: enemies, power-ups, and links to files from the archive. I hope I’ll be done soon, but these level files are very tedious to make.

April 22, 1998
Got site at FortuneCity “The City that Never Sleeps” I think I’m going to move all the files from the Geocities sites to the FortuneCity site (they give me 10Mb, while Geocities only gave me 6Mb- if you do the math I’ll actually have 2Mb less, but I think there will still be enough space for the site). I haven’t worked on the site at all since the last update, but I’ll continue soon. The FortuneCity site is: http://www.fortunecity.com/underworld/descent/348/. I will re-locate my Bigfoot address when I get this on up and running (well, at least when it’s better than the one at Geocities).

April 7, 1998
Uploaded Archive page, and MIDI files. Uploaded Mega Man Text- Really cool! Uploaded some level files (not games levels, select level screens).

April 6, 1998
Created Archive page, with links to the uploaded sounds, and to MIDIs which I will upload tomorrow. Oh yeah, it’s my birthday too! Happy 19th Dave!

March 29, 1998
Created new index file for main site. Includes links to sites which I will upload soon. These included the Archive, Levels, Mega Man Text, and Game ROM.

March 28, 1998
Converted captured sounds to 8000Hz 8-bit MSADPCM compressed. Uploaded files to 8241, no reference to uploaded sounds.

March 23, 1998
Updated index files for both 8240 and 8241. 8241 contained code to automatically transport to 8240. Updated my Bigfoot.com permanent web address to link to Geocities. Now accessible from ’http://www.bigfoot.com/~dbradbury/’- Excellent.

March 19, 1998
First created the Mega Man 3 site at Geocities. http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shadowlands/8240/ (main site) and http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shadowlands/8241/ (archive site).

January-March 1998
Created level game maps, level pages, boss animations, some graphics, other HTML files.
